Terms of use

An early version

MunchMiles is in beta. Features will change, some may be switched off, and things will occasionally break. We’ll do our best to keep your meals and photos safe, but please keep your own copies of photos that matter to you.

Your account

• You need to be at least 13 to use MunchMiles.
• Use your real email, keep it secure, and use one account per person.
• You’re responsible for what happens on your account.

Your content

Your meals, photos, ratings and notes stay yours. You give us permission to store them, process them (for example, to make thumbnails or read a receipt) and show them to the people you choose, only so we can run MunchMiles. That permission ends when you delete the content or your account, apart from backups that roll over and anything others have already saved, such as a place they added to their own list.

Only post photos and content you have the right to share. When people are in your photos, or you tag or name someone, be sure they’re happy with that.

Be a good guest

Please don’t:

• harass, threaten or impersonate anyone, or post hateful, sexual or violent content;
• share other people’s private information, including a server’s or staff member’s name without their OK;
• post fake recommendations or reviews, or ones you’re paid for without saying so;
• scrape, overload or try to break into MunchMiles, or get around its privacy settings or limits;
• use MunchMiles for anything illegal.

You can report content and people. We may remove content or suspend accounts that break these rules.

Recommendations and restaurant details

Ratings, recommendations, Industry Recs and food events are members’ own opinions and listings, not ours, and restaurant details come partly from Google. Things change: check hours, prices, allergens and event details with the restaurant or organizer. Split the check is a helper; check the totals before anyone pays.

Leaving

You can delete your account at any time in Settings. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, or close MunchMiles itself; if we do, we’ll give reasonable notice when we can, so you can save what you want.

The legal part

MunchMiles is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind. To the extent the law allows, we aren’t liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for losses caused by members’ content, restaurants or outside services. Nothing here limits rights you have that the law doesn’t let us limit.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California.

Changes and questions

If we change these terms, we’ll update the date at the top and tell you in the app about anything important. Questions? Send them through Feedback.
